Kim van Zeben & Rogier in ’t Hout

Sjef the Mouse loses his home when his tree is cut down without warning. In panic, he flees and finds shelter beneath a log cabin in the forest. Here it is dry and there is even an abundance of food. But Beuk the Woodcutter is not pleased. This hut belongs to her! That mouse has to go, whatever it takes. When Owl also appears on the scene, the chaos is complete. Beuk, Sjef and Owl become increasingly entangled in their struggle over the forest. But who does that forest really belong to?

Beuk! is a family production by Kim van Zeben Theatre Productions for everyone aged 4 and above. A physical rollercoaster that sweeps you along into a cartoon-like world, full of spectacular chases, fights and comic falls. High-level slapstick, plenty of throwing and smashing, and things are allowed to break. But above all, Beuk! is a moving story about true friendship between humans and animals, and their shared love of nature.

In 2024, Beuk! won a Zilveren Krekel for the most impressive youth theatre production in the Netherlands. Due to its success, the production now returns to the Studio.
