The Jeugdorkest Nederland (JON) is bursting with musical energy. Around 75 young talents aged 14 to 21 from all corners of the country come together in this vibrant symphony orchestra. Some combine the orchestra with school, while others are already following pre-conservatoire training. What they all share is their love of music.

Under the direction of the passionate conductor Jurjen Hempel, JON performs works by great masters as well as surprising contemporary composers. The result? Fresh, energetic and consistently of a high standard.

Since 1959, JON has been the place where young musical talent can develop. Rehearsing, growing and performing together — with attention to technique, interpretation and the joy of playing. For many members, JON is a stepping stone towards a professional career in music; others carry this rich experience into a different path. In any case, JON is a place where you grow both musically and personally.
