Every spring, Introdans highlights a special choreographer. In 2026, that will be none other than Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. LARBI is an ode to his unique dance language and the resilience that shines through in his work. Cherkaoui’s virtuosic movements, musicality, and boldness to create moments of stillness fit perfectly with Introdans. It is no surprise he collaborates with global stars like Beyoncé and Madonna.

Cherkaoui is a master at storytelling through dance. Themes such as identity, faith, and collectivity form the common thread in his work. He effortlessly combines styles and cultures, creating a poetic, hypnotic dance language that resonates worldwide.

This evening features three impressive ballets: Fall, In Memoriam, and a brand-new solo. Especially for this program, Cherkaoui is creating a new version of Fall.

Fall
Dancing like falling autumn leaves: playful, fragile, and subject to gravity. To the meditative sounds of Arvo Pärt, Cherkaoui sculpts with the dancers, like a sculptor capturing bodies in motion.

In Memoriam
An intense masterpiece about memory and loss. It is a tribute to the choreographer's ancestors. Rustling skirts and rushing video images propel the dancers forward in this meditative performance.

New solo
For dancer/choreographer Marc Brew, a car accident radically changed his life in an instant. How do you continue to dance when your body is out of balance? Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui previously created the solo Crash, in which Brew showcased his resilience in his own way. For this program, he is creating an entirely new solo specifically for Marc Brew.

Whether this performance has an interval is not yet known.
