Sarangi guru Ustad Sabir Khan, from the centuries-old court musicians’ family of the Sikar Gharana in Rajasthan, shares his rich musical heritage with the ensemble. His father, the legendary Sultan Khan, worked with greats such as George Harrison and Madonna, leaving a profound mark on both classical music and Bollywood.

Trombonist and composer Arjan Linker, once a winner of the NBE composition competition, has since been accepted as a shishya (disciple) into the musical lineage of Ustad Sabir Khan. The latter masterfully guides his audience into a musical universe where listening and connecting take precedence over knowledge.

The NBE immerses itself in this expressive, improvisation-driven music, also incorporating the spectacular and playful world of Bollywood music.
