A Ticket to Aleppo
Orchestre Partout from Aleppo, together with the New European Ensemble, paints a new soundscape in which the ancient city comes to life; from prayer rooms and coffee houses, age-old voices can be heard, while cars honk and the air carries the scent of coffee, pepper and cinnamon.
A Ticket to Aleppo presents a warm-hearted musical dialogue between Arabic and Western traditions and reveals the vibrancy of the city. In this concert, the transportive and spiritual qualities of Aleppo come together with Western timbre, harmony and form. Instruments such as the oud, qanun and riq are combined with violin, viola, cello and flute.
