Jan Verweij

Series of Philosophical Discussions: Inequality

During the 2026–2027 season, Jan Verweij will deliver a series of six philosophical lectures. These interactive sessions are inspired by themes from our theatre programme, but can also be attended independently. On 12 November 2026, the focus will be on the theme of inequality.

Verweij studied Dutch, history and philosophy and taught in an inspiring manner at secondary schools and universities. In 2012, he was named Teacher of the Year. He now gives lectures and courses on a wide range of philosophical topics.

Afterwards, we will briefly highlight a number of theatre performances that tie in with the theme of inequality. See below for details of the performances.

No prior knowledge is required; all you need is an open mind and a fresh sense of curiosity!

After the lecture, you are warmly welcome to join us at Benee for a chat over a cup of coffee, tea or soft drink (one drink is included in the price).
