Martin String Quartet
Quartet is a Circle
Four musicians, one sound. The Martin String Quartet demonstrates how four individual voices merge into a close whole. You hear how tension and harmony continually alternate.
In this programme they explore the string quartet in all its forms. From the layered, sometimes raw sound world of Gubaidulina to the clear lines of Bach. From the personal music of cellist Ori Ron to the joy and playfulness of Beethoven.
The quartet performs with precision and attention to detail. Each voice remains audible while everything comes together in a musical movement. In this way a programme is created that continues to surprise and rubs where necessary. As a finalist of Dutch Classical Talent, the Martin String Quartet tours the major venues across the Netherlands. You hear new talent that already convinces. Previous participants include names such as Tania Kross, Lavinia Meijer and Nora Fischer.
